As published Monday 26th April in the Burton Mail:
"Staff and pupils at a Burton school have been left "distraught" after vandals trashed a shed built in memory of a volunteer, damaged toys and stole scooters.
The damage happened on two occasions at Victoria Community School, in Victoria Road as vandals targeted the reception pupils’ outside area, scattering and damaging equipment and toys, breaking into an outside cupboard, stealing two scooters and a balance bike, and emptying the contents of the rubbish bins across the playground."

On Thursday 4th March, we celebrated World Book Day. We enjoyed carrying out lots of different activities linked to authors and books. As part of our celebrations for World Book Day, many classes dressed up as their favourite book characters or characters from the books they had been learning about in class. Here are some of the activities we carried out on the day. We all had a great day sharing and enjoying our favourite books together!
Join HOPE zoom parent support sessions; a safe place to find information, chat and learn from each other through shared experience.

In Autumn term, Year 2 planted some daffodil bulbs in the school planters. We headed onto the playground for our break and were very excited to see that they had started to bloom over the holidays. We hope that the rest of the school will enjoy these flowers as a little sign of Spring.
You will see we are putting some free sessions on our YouTube channel over half term (some live, some pre-recorded) for children and families to join in with. Also we have a virtual junior youth club that runs every Monday evening that children can join in with some fun online activities, again for free. (Contact details for this are on the flyer below.
