Welcome

Welcome Message from the Head Teacher

Welcome to Victoria Community School, a place where every child and family is at the heart of all that we do.

We are an inclusive two-site school with a governor-led Nursery, and an enhanced resourced unit for children with speech & language challenges. One site is based in a traditional Victorian building whilst the other is in a more modern facility surrounded by lots of open space.  A ‘best of both worlds’ scenario for children and staff alike! We have around 420 pupils on roll.

I was appointed the new Headteacher of our school in January 2022 and I very much look forward to getting to know you and your child in the coming weeks, months and years, and driving our school forward with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

As a young(ish) father myself, I know how important it is that children are given the best possible start in life, wherever they have come from. This is about giving children opportunities to experience new things - experiences which challenge them and activities which mean they go beyond their own normal.  Only by doing this, will they thrive and ‘grow’.

Having been a Headteacher in another local school, I know that when we all work together – we can achieve some pretty amazing things!  A partnership between home, school and its wider community is central to this, as is the vision to see ‘the impossible’.  With hard work, creative thinking and an open mind – anything is possible.

Victoria is lucky enough to have an exceptionally dedicated team of staff, who put children and families first.  On the back of COVID-19, we are all striving to move Victoria Community School forward and bring about rapid improvements for the good of the children.  We are keen to build a school that appeals to children and families of all areas of

Burton on Trent.

Please have a look around our website and give us a call to arrange a visit sometime.  Only be taking a look around in person, will you truly understand what our school is all about.

Mr Lee Smith, Head Teacher
