Spring 1

Non-Chronological Reports-Seals

This half term, we are researching facts about animals for our own non-chronological reports. We are learning about animals that explorers might have seen on their expeditions to Antarctica. We really enjoyed working with our partners using the tablets and texts to find our information. Well done everyone-fabulous Team Tiger and Independent Iguana work!

PSHE-Safe and Unsafe

In PSHE, we have been learning about things and places that are safe and unsafe.  Miss Marchini said the names of different places and things. We had to decide whether these were safe or unsafe and stand by the correct side of the classroom to show what we thought.

Popcorn Maths!

We had a great time solving multiplication and division facts based on the 2s, 5s and 10s times tables using Popcorn Maths. We answered our calculations in pairs on whiteboards-well done everyone! Great work!

Dancing Raisins!

This half term, we have been carrying out different investigations. We particularly enjoyed investigating what would happen when we put raisins in fizzy water and what would happen when we put raisins in still water. We made predictions, observed what happened and wrote up our results and findings. We discussed whether our predictions were correct or not and why. We discovered that the bubbles in the fizzy water made the raisins 'move' and dance. When the bubbles attached themselves to the raisins, the raisins floated and when the bubbles popped the raisins sank. Super investigating everyone!
