Flu Immunisation

Important information for parents of young children about flu - consent packs have already been sent home with your child please ensure you complete and return this to the school office as soon as possible if you wish your child to receive their vaccine

Flu can be serious for younger children, they may need hospital treatment, and very occasionally a child may die from flu.

So it’s important that they’re vaccinated. It’s not an injection it’s just a quick and painless nasal spray.

In Staffordshire the flu nasal spray is free for:

  • children aged two or three on August 31st 2017
  • children in reception class and school years one, two, three, four and five
  • children aged 2 to 17 with long-term health conditions

The nasal spray is recommended by the NHS to help protect younger children and also to reduce the spread of flu to their family, carers and friends.
