Roman Day

On Wednesday 13th February, Year 3 Rowan and Y 3 Poplar had a special visitor that came to our school to share with us all she knew about the Romans. As she was a gladiatrix from Roman times, she had a lot to show and tell.  We enjoyed listening about Roman soldiers and tying on some of the clothes and armour they wore. We had a chance to write our names using the Roman alphabet, we played the Roman game of Ludus latrunculorum, create Roman clay votives and practised our hunting skills using spears and nets. We ended the day with listening to  a Roman myth and we were able to share our learning with both Year 1 classes. It was a fantastic day, full of fun and great activities.

Thank you 'Gladiatrix' for sharing your life story and many interesting facts with us :) !
