On Thursday 15th November we visited Burton Library to learn about our local history, as part of our topic work on 'Canals'. We enjoyed learning all about what canals are, why they were made and what they are used for. We located some canal routes and practised digging out our own canal routes. We learnt about ways in which people and horses helped canals to move and discovered what life was like on a canal boat. We had a fantastic morning and learnt lots of facts about our new topic! Now we are excited to learn more canals!
